Jean Seizure

Having been through training for children in theatre, Jean Seizure started acting for Mediacorp at the age of six after their first audition. She got bombed to death in "The Price of Peace (1997)", breaking the hearts of her kindergarten classmates, who held their face and wept when Jean was spotted in school the next day because they thought Jean died for real. Jean also died after stepping on a rusty nail in "Stepping Out (1999)". As they grew older, they stopped dying in shows and instead became a host in vibrant variety shows for children such as "What's Up" and "Kids@World" by Oak3 Films.

Some people may recognise Jean as CHIJ uniform-clad Sumin, their first short film lead role, in The Autograph Book by Wee Li Lin. The short film won the "Special Achievement Award" at the Singapore International Film Festival and the "Certificate of Excellence" at the Chicago International Children's Film Festival.

In 2019, Jean starred their first lead feature film role in local film “Malam”, directed by Leonard Yip and this film was part of the Official selection Jaffna International Cinema Festival 2021. Jean also became part of Ronin Action Group, a stunt team helmed by Golden Horse-nominated fight choreographer Sunny Pang. Jean’s most thrilling stunt thus far is getting hit by a moving van as the stunt double of a child.

Besides acting, Jean also sings and writes songs. Jean was brought into the children's choir in church at a young age by their parents, Wu Gang and Xiahui, both veteran 70s mando-pop singers.

Jean’s first large-scale singing performance was held at the Indoor Stadium, where they sang alone on stage to an audience of 6,000 at 7 years old.

Growing up, Jean spent their free time writing songs and posting music on YouTube. Jean was awarded the EXCEL Award at the nEbO Spirit of Youth Awards 2012 and 2013 as well as the Best Vocalist Award at the nEbO Spirit of Youth Awards 2014. In 2016, Jean emerged as Champion for Starhub's online singing competition, Hear Me Sing. Jean was also a part of Noise Singapore's Music Mentorship program and was mentored by Sara Wee.

In 2017, Jean participated as one of two backing vocalists in Sing•浪 Concert, headed by Fang Dong Kai and Goh Kheng Long, featuring local musicians such as Alfred Sim, Tay Kewei, and Gentlebones. Jean also shared the stage with Jacky Cheung in July at Harbin for the Jacky Cheung Classic World Tour that year.

Jean eventually became a Spotify RADAR artist in 2022 and an EQUAL ambassador for Singapore and Malaysia in June, giving her the opportunity to be featured on New York Times Square’s famous billboard along with other talented international musicians. This once-in-a-lifetime experience ended up doubling into two when Jean was again featured on New York Times Square and LA’s Sunset Spectacular in 2023, just seven months later as the first-ever SEA Spotify GLOW artist representing all of Asia.
